Today is the last day of music for gr. 7. We did a reflection about all the things we did starting from the Indonesian song (solo singing), 32 bars melody, group performance of the melody, solo singing western song (santa Lucia), performance of baroque era composer melody nd the check of the reflections in the blog and manually (using the journal). We also had to pring screen a few of our reflections from the blog. I went to the photocopy center to print it so that I could submit today.

Part of the assessment
For Music Theory, we listened to the songs played by the people who hasn't performed and the people who needs to redo. We were also give the scores for the manual reflection, I got 9/10.

 Re-dos and Judgements.
We looked at the videos that Mr. Herry took and so Mr. Herry judged and fixed the scores on the assessment. Some people also did a redo to raise their scores. My score wasn't 9/10, instead it was 9.9/10.

Today was the music assessment day where we had to perform our Baroque song. It starts from the woodwind group, to the piano, next is the guitar then finally the violin group. I was very nervous because I was the first to play for the piano group. I'm quite proud with the result because I was able to play it without much mistakes. For the whole song, I played it quite slowly because I was afraid to make mistakes.

Practice for music assessment
We practiced for the assessment that was  moved to Thursday. The teacher gave chances to all students to perform their songs. i was relieved that when I played, I didn't make mistakes but it was only 2 bars played twice


Rehearsal
We practiced in front of the teacher and classmates. Everybody was supposed to create scores for the ones who play. I got a lot of mistakes because I was really nervous. So I got the lowest score: 82 out of 100

We got our scores for the reading comprehension about J.S Bach. I think I am satisfied with my score because I got 7/8 for it. We were also singing the note's tunes to show everybody how it sounds like from 5 notes to the whole octave. C D E F G A B C notes.

For piano we had to review our song to the teacher. This was for the second progress. I didn't do well, because I think I focus too much on the audience so I get really nervous.

In Music Theory class, we got a chance to perform in front of the audience (the whole class). Since it was my turn and Jessy's to perform as a representative for the piano group, I was nervous. Because of that, I got a lot of mistakes. It was embarrassing and I was ashamed to perform that many mistakes. I need to practice more.

For piano today, we practiced performed in front of the teacher. I was less nervous with this. It was a few mistakes and misunderstandings but it was through.

In Music Theory, we continued practicing while presenting the performance to everybody. For the piano group, Tristan and Micheline, presented. The guitar went first, then the violin, the woodwind group and finally piano. I think it will be my turn to play next week because I haven't performed yet.


We continued to practice in  front of the teacher and class mates. I'm very nervous so I guess I'll make a lot of mistakes. I have to focus on the notes and how it is played.

Music Theory: Today we were told that our scores for our last assessment was not good enough so we had to do another test which is the Bach assessment. The text was a lot so it took a long time to read it and answer.

For piano class, we continued to play and practice our songs again. I didn't do quite well because I got a lot of mistakes. Because of this, I need to practice more on the rhythm and the notes.

Music Theory: Our teacher, Mr. Hary came back. He recovered from his accident. When he came, he enables us to review our assessment we did last week to get the information out of the books. I struggle again at this point because I didn't buy the textbooks from school. :(

Piano Class. Today we played our song in front of the teacher. When we play it, the teacher will give a comment on us to improve. I changed my song to Minuet (a different type) because my older song, Prelude was already being played by two people.

Today we did the assessment to write the short essay about the Baroque era. It was very hard because I struggled in the "musical forms". The teacher was substituted by Mr. John, the guitar teacher.

Music Theory
Today we did our redos again with Mr. Sadrakh. People who had to do a redo usually has a lower score. Mr. Hary and many other instrument teachers were absent. But we will still have instrument class (but with some arrangements: the instrumental groups with a missing teacher will be taught by another teacher joining in with another group)


Piano Class
We practiced our Baroque song. My song to practice was Prelude in C. I have to improve more on my smoothness so I wouldn't have stops in the middle of the song.

Music theory: Today we did our singing re-do's. The people who had scores below average will do a redo. Besides that, people could take a challenge to volunteer singing in front of everybody again.

Piano Class: Today we were given the handouts of the notes like MInuet, Gavotte, Prelude and other Minuet (in different scales). We were given a choice to practice one.

Today we performed our santa lucia song. I was very nervous because I was afraid I'll get it wrong. I didn't do the performance really well because I was always looking down (no eye contact with audience: caused by nervousness) and I didn't sing so loud. Next time I should practice more.

Music Theory

Today we practiced the Santa Lucia song to present to the whole class. This practice was for the assessment on next Monday. I'm very nervous because it would be solo singing and I'm afraid that it would sound weird when I sing it.

Piano Class

One of the assessments is to play a Baroque music with our instruments. The teacher played songs that was from the Baroque era. They were Minuet in G, Prelude in C, and Gavotte. There were easy ones and hard ones. We also played games that involved guessing the note in which the teacher will give their number in the order of the scale.

Music Theory: Today we had to summarize our music booklets. Each music group (piano, woodwind, guitar and violin) had to choose representatives to present their summaries. From our piano class, Tata was the representative. Then we were introduced to a new song called Santa Lucia and practiced it.

Piano Class: The teacher wasn't in the class when it was time for "instrument class" so everybody was doing their own songs in the piano.

Today was assessment week for woodwind and violin. The piano and some of guitars members can just watch the instruments being played. In today's and last weeks assessment, the teacher from each of their own instruments assess their own group.

Today was ASSESSMENT WEEK!!! I was very nervous and probably messes up a bit. I got an 8 out of 10. I could've done better by practicing more and concentrating more on the melody instead of the nervousness that is in me..

Music theory: We practice our song again just like yesterday. I need to practice more because I made mistakes. The next time its music we need to do the assessment. I'm quite nervous because I really want to get a satisfying score. If I played in front of the whole class I get embarrassed and will play clumsily.

Piano Class: We were recorded by the teacher, Mr. Heri. Before, we had to practice so that it could be played smoothly. I have to practice more. During this time, we were practicing with headsets so the recording wouldn't be interrupted by other noise or sounds.

The instrumental groups performed their melodies for the IDU project. We need to practice more so it could be better.

Piano Class

We performed our melodies in front of everybody. I felt nervous because I was afraid to embarrass myself by my mistakes. I need to practice more.

From the performances, our piano teacher, Mr Heri gave us suggestions to improve our performances including suggestions about bowing.

Music Theory
Today we presented our movements. One of our members were absent again so it was hard to do it especially to make it precise. I don't think we are that ready, because the movements seem very stiff and we are also not very smooth in it. We need more practice. This project is a challenge for me because it seems that sometimes my members are uncooperative and absent. This project is difficult.

Today we practice our melody again. I didn't improve much in the melody. I think I need to improve in organizing it.

Today we were given the scores for the music booklet. I was satisfied with my score because it as quite a good score. The finale submission soft copies were also checked while the students were taken a picture (for the last assessment - singing national anthem).

Piano:

We practiced playing our melodies again (with accompaniments).

We reviewed on the FInale program. After making the melody, we should practice it at home or at school to play for the due date (assessment). We need to put the chords.

Piano Class:

On piano we played our melody to test it with accompaniment (different accompaniments per 2 bars). I will try to improve by practicing more.

Today, we reviewed on the functions and the use of the finale program for making our melody for the IDU project. We also submitted the hard copy of it. The teacher has been making a checklist of the blogs that has been sent.

Piano Class

On piano class, we were assigned to play our melodies on the piano but with a different accompaniment. I didn't do mines today so its probably gonna be on next Monday.

Today we submitted our music booklets with a paper which we wrote on (reflection) Our teacher today was Mr Sadrakh as a substitute because Mr. Hary was absent. We checked the things that needed to be done. :)

Music Theory: Today we were introduced to the finale program. It was a cool program because it provides a lot of features. It could produce notes, make chords and play it. I would probably download/install it from the computer.

Piano Class: Today in piano, we played our composed compositions with the beats. I didn't do quite well because I got messed up with the beats and the chords. I will try to make it better by looking and reviewing.

Music Theory

Today we reviewed about our assessments because there were changes in due dates and pages. I think I need to make 10 more pages to because the requirements were changed to 20 pages instead of 10 pages.

Piano Class

We did 8 lined notes for piano. It was quite a fun topic because if we were finished, the teacher would play the composition in the piano.

Music Theory
Today we made 4 lines with 4 bars with 4 beats. Each group has to make one composition. I think I need to practice on making my notes so that it could sound nicer.

Piano
Today we did 8 bars of different scales. We also need to do homework on our B scales. It was quite fun when testing it out.. :)

Today we reviewed our submission dates for projects. We also did our 4 by 4 notations. We need to make a melody using the 4 by 4 rule.

Piano Class

In piano class, we reviewed our notations and playing with scales. The teacher also made us learn the scales. I need to practice my scales and my hand posture.

MUSIC THEORY :Today, I learned about the rests and beats known in a type of note. I will improve this knowledge by reviewing it. We also reviewed on 4 by 4 beats in a bar or it can also be said as 4/4.
PIANO: Today I got some advice from Mr. Heri to fix my posture and to cut my finger nails (this to fix the way I tap the piano). I also need to practice mu scales because it's not very good/clear.:p

At music we practiced singing songs. I learned that we should do warm ups to increase our sing ranges.

Today we had to present our songs with our partners. My partner and I chose the song " Tujuh Belas Agustus". I think that this is the improvements that I need to make so that I could get a better score next time. I think that I have to sing louder to provide a clearer and better sound.

Today we did a redo on the music songs. People who got lower than the average had to do a redo to increase their current songs.
Piano: This was our first time to do an audition since the number of members were above the maximum.
